July 1999 I spoke to a mother as she was approaching the front of the clinic. When I told her about the lawsuits against the abortionist and the injuries inflicted upon women that we knew of, she began to question her decision to have an abortion. After sitting with her on the curb and talking at length, she made the decision to let her baby live. We continued to stay in contact with her throughout her pregnancy and helped her with groceries on several occasions. A baby girl named Amber was born in early Febuary 2000. Mary Penner, Charity Green and I were present.

We spoke to her for a few minutes and she told us that she had to do this because her husband had left her and she had no help. We assured her that we and numerous other organizations would meet her needs and the needs of her baby. She said she wouldn't go through with it and turned around. Officer Prince came out and said " I don't know what y'all are doing but two women have already changed their minds and left. He said there was another girl inside that was probably going to leave shortly. One of those women was led in by her father and mother and was initially hostle toward me. We saw them leave. As we were standing near the corner of Boulevard and Grove I saw two women approaching the opposite corner by the Museum. They were coming toward the mill when they saw the graphic picture and the woman with the appointment turned around and faced in the other direction as they talked and tried to avoid eye contact with us and the sign. I called out to her and they walked away without returning.
As John stood on the corner with the large sign, a woman parked and walked by him with two pretty little twin girls. She looked at his sign and said (speaking of the children) this is the choice I made at this place 16 months ago. As he passed me I gave him a copy of the paper and spoke briefly to him on behalf of his child. He said "We really don't want to do it" but he didn't seem to open to talk. After he came back to the mill parking lot, the young lady came out and they stood around talking for several minutes. They then got into the car and I could see him looing through the paper. As they drove out he was still reading the paper "She's a Child, Not a Choice".

They were told where the CPC was located and they drove off in that direction.
March 19, 1996 A man came out of the mill and excepted a paper from me and I briefly spoke with him about the help we had to offer. January 26, 1996 A girl named Desiree' drove up and told Earlene that 3 years ago, as a result of sidewalk counseling, she turned from having an abortion and now has a son named Montrayus. She said that what really stuck in her mind was that the baby has a beating heart. The clinic workers denied that it was true but she didn't believe them and had it checked out by her own Dr.. The Dr. confirmed that the sidewalk counselor was telling the truth. She's now off of welfare & works at Nabisco making almost $20 an hour. January 22, 1996 Kurt Curtis was told the following story while on the bus to the March for Life. She was very upset with those blocking her way and when this gentleman addressed her she asked sacastically if he would take care of the baby. The man said that he would be glad to adopt the child . That assurance was enough to turn her away and when the baby was born the pro-lifer adopted the baby girl.

September 23, 1995 Two babies saved today.
First - At around 8:45 AM a black woman with a white woman and young man came down the sidewalk toward the mill. I gave the black woman some literature and said a few words. The white girl began to tell us that the other woman was pregnant by her brother and that her husband was unaware of it. Julie asked for them to say the Lord's Prayer, which they did. The white girl was very pro-life and didn't want the baby killed. After being inside for about fifteen minutes, they came out and left.
Second - A young asian couple walked past us and Mark Goodell gave the man a "Did You Know" leaflet. I spoke to them until they entered the building. A little while later, they came back out and as they passed us, the man said, "Thanks for changing my mind" and "we're going to let the baby live". They gladly took other literature and left. Pro-lifers present were Julie, Mark Goodell, Jay Cruse, Ellie Patrick and myself.
May 11, 1995 I briefly spoke to a couple as they went into the mill but didn't get much across (so it seemed). The man came back out and I began to speak with him. As we spoke, he began to come around and began to become uneasy with his involvement with the abortion. He then asked for information with pictures and went back into the mill to try to talk his wife/girlfriend out of the abortion. As I was beginning to leave he came back out and made a gesture signifying that he had been unsuccessful. On the following Tuesday, I saw him coming toward the mill again with a receipt (to get a refund) in his hand. I asked him why he was back and he told me that after I had left, the girl changed her mind and came out. He was glad and thanked me.

They went into the mill and later came out and when they drove past Faye, she asked if they were going to let the baby live. They said yes.
Another possible save happened when a woman with a young couple were spoken to by Faye. The older woman was irate and vocally violent, threatening to push Faye into the traffic. Faye continued speaking to them across the parking lot. They went in after standing around for quit
