Wash Yourself in the Word!
September 10, 2009
The one most revolutionary thing I know to guide you into the deeper life is a daily washing in the Word. By this, I don't mean simple devotions. I lived for years reading the Bible and meditating upon it in smaller portions. Along with that, I learned principles from deeper life writers (Tozer, Nee, Ravenhill, etc.) that help the mind realize who I am in Christ and to walk in power and victory. But principles without a daily bathing in the Word aren't enough. The principles only empower when you immerse yourself in the Savior through His Word. Hit and miss victories are draining and not the Biblical Christian life. I would encourage you to begin a daily Bible reading plan that leads you into much more Scripture time. It may feel like a bit of a burden at first to devote larger portions of your already busy day to this endeavor, but as you see your life filled more and more with the Living Word, you will find strength to walk head and shoulders above the walk of your past Christian life. It will take very little time before the portions of Scripture you have planned for the day will not be enough for your hungry soul which is now gaining a ravenous hunger for more and a dissatisfaction for the little snacks on the Word. Your passion for YHWH will grow as the principles for victorious living become ever clearer. Do you really want to be clean? Wash yourself in the Word.
